DI KATEology
Once upon a time, around the 12th of January 2002, at a party in some painters studio in Hisingen Göteborg, late at night, three guys ended up in the same room and started a conversation over an old music poster on the wall.
Alex and Fredrik, who both studied at the Domen school of art, met up with Jerry, all thanks to the Swiss connection. That fateful evening it was decided, and a week after that, the first rehersal was a fact. A shared love of rock, art and dark french beer made the trick.
After almost one year of constant everlasting epic jams and getting to know eachother, suddenly new songs started to see the light of day in a horrendous tempo. Despite serious trouble with rehersal space, the band accumulated a lot (really a lot) of songs, learned to play together, and also evolved as lovers of fine french dark beer – and as a result – a twelve-track demo came out.

Slowly the ”band name-issue” and the ”bass player-issue” came along. And the ”rehersal room-issue”. And the ”oops-we-made-a-new-song-and-forgot-about-it-issue”. After what probably must be considered ”quite a while”, the name Di Kate was adopted, and lives (almost) reverted back to normal.

In the summer of 2005 the band moved in to a new studio of their own, and finally got more time and space to grow. Almost two years worth of recordings were scrapped – beacuse of the new – better recording sound in the new studio. Work on new recordings is constantly underway.
The everlasting quest for a female bassist goes on.

The intentions and goals of the band have always been the same: Play good tough rock music, support the string and drumstick-industry, bring worldpeace, spread french beer sovereignity world wide, and, have fun while doing it.
